A Real Star

There are many ways to describe The Yorkshire Tenor, but unique, talented, and charismatic just seem to scratch the surface. However, there is one word that ties them all together and is true to their character: The Yorkshire Tenor is real. Few people sing so honestly from their heart and soul. The Yorkshire Tenor does so in just the right way, combining art, story, and song in perfect unison. Take a look around the site, and explore what the gift of music truly is.

Jacob Walsh, also known as the Yorkshire Tenor, has been singing for over a decade, specialising in sacred arias and lyrical tenor pieces. He has been training under Michael De Costa at the Academy for nearly a decade, where he has expanded his repertoire. Jacob has performed around the country and travelled abroad this year singing at a wedding in Palermo in Sicily.

Before training at the De Costa Academy, Jacob started singing lessons at his local church with David Morton and his late wife Christine. With their guidance and kind nature they laid the foundations for his voice and career.

Jacob has performed solo works from Stainer's Crucifixion and Operatic pieces from La Boheme, Tosca and Turandot. Last year he had his debut concert at the National Centre for Early Music, which was a massive success and a great achievement in his career so far.

Since the concert performance last year he is in high demand for for weddings, concerts and corporate events. His style, humour and voice makes any event a memorable one. Jacob tailors his repertoire to suit each occasion, going from operatic arias to musicals and to more easy listening cabaret.

Jacob has had great support from local radio station Chris Marsden and his team at YO1 radio, which is always willing to promote any event that Jacob is performing at.
